ProducerSolutions | Based on cutting edge technology

Even in an era of rapid technological advancements, microfilm remains the most reliable backup system. A microfilm can be accessed with a magnifier, without the need for any hardware support, which can become obsolete in a matter of years. Whatever happened to floppy disks or magnetic tapes? And who knows what will become of CDs and DVDs? That's why microfilm has proven to be the best analogue solution for data preservation.

Microfilm copies

Keep a duplicate copy of your original microfilms that will still be readable in 500 years. SOCAMI has a Kodak certified laboratory and only use Kodak quality supplies. All the options are offered in 16 and 35 mm formats.

  • Silver film
Film of the highest quality mainly used for archival purposes. With proper storage, this film can last several hundreds of years.

  • Diazo copy
Low cost reproduction method, which has an archival life of 50 years. The film is developed through an ammonia process and deteriorates rapidly when exposed to daylight**.
**Though SOCAMI offers this service, we highly recommend the silver film. The price difference is not as significant as it used to be.

  • Negative/Positive copy
We can transform a positive reel in negative, and vice-versa.
